Paul knew the miraculous in revelatory experiences and speaking gifts, and in God’s rescue. However, prayer for a physical problem was answered not by healing but God’s grace causing Paul to rejoice in his weaknesses in which he could see the power of God. In turn, Paul did not often talk about preaching but of ‘gospelling’, a combination of his speaking and the miraculous that was part of his ministry not because he was a person of spiritual power, but because God’s power worked through his weakness.
