The New School of Biblical Theology (NSBT) is an entirely online educational institute with a global student body. In this day and age, more than ever, it is vital that those whom Christ is calling be able to stay within the initial context in which men and women are called and nurtured. An online context allows for students to continue in the context of support, especially if already ministering within a church or local ministry wherever they are located in. It also allows for the pace of studies that can be adapted to the practical and financial needs of the individual student. Not only do students learn and gain the competencies for their particular calling, but also the ministry and local community in which they are engaged during their studies will also benefit from the growth and preparation of these ministerial leaders being prepared and developed at NSBT.

Most instruction in NSBT is conducted in English.  Students whose first language for ministry is not English are expected to achieve a level of proficiency that allows them to access written texts, participate in online discussions, and write papers in English.  In some cases where there are a sufficient number of students enrolled in a course who share a primary language other than English, a Teaching Assistant proficient in that other primary language will be assigned to assist students in completing their work.  Entire courses are also offered from time to time in other languages when there are a sufficient number of students working in ministry in that other language, and as instructional resources will allow.  Students who find they are having difficulties with English are encouraged in all cases to seek assistance through a tutor on their own, or through the Director of Information Literacy at NSBT.
