Dr. Angela R. White
Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Academic Programs and Director of Field Education; Adjunct Professor
Dr. Angela R. White serves as Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Academic Programs and Director of Field Education at the New School of Biblical Theology, where she also teaches as an Adjunct Professor. She is one of the two academic deans of NSBT and a member of its academic leadership, and she reports to the Executive Vice President. She carries institutional effectiveness oversight, academic program execution, curriculum management, outcomes assessment, Field Education leadership, and Capstone writing support. She works with the Academic Dean and Director of Admissions on curriculum review and academic policy implementation, and the two deans co-supervise the Office of Student Services.
She records the proceedings of the Advisory Council.
Teaching and Field Education
She directs and teaches the Field Education Practicum series and teaches the Capstone Completion Paper series of the Master of Arts in Christian Ministry (MACM) and the Master of Arts in Global Christian Leadership (MAGL). With Dr. Onorio Chaparro, Academic Dean and Director of Admissions, she administers NSBT’s fully online programs day to day and teaches within them. She leads the Field Education program, integrating field-based learning with the online curriculum, and maintains the institution’s field education partnerships, which are governed by written agreements co-signed by the institution and the field education site supervisor at each placement site.
Formation
Dr. White holds the Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy, conferred in 2009 by Fordham University, and the Master of Arts in Christian Ministry, conferred in 2023 by the New School of Biblical Theology. Her Capstone for that degree was titled “Transition from Prison to the Community: Hope Restored Reentry Ministry.” She also holds the Master of Arts in Special Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, conferred in 1985, and Advanced Certification in Educational Administration and Supervision from Brooklyn College, conferred in 1993. Her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology was conferred in 1981 by Long Island University.
Career
Her career in education spans more than four decades in the New York public schools, including service as principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent of schools. From 1981 to 1996 she served in District 75 of the New York City Department of Education in Queens as a Title I Reading Teacher, Assistant Coordinator of Title I, Coordinator of Title I, Director of Funded Programs, and Principal of P.S. 224Q (Special Education). She was Principal of Brookside School in the Ossining Union Free School District from 1996 to 2007 and Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education and Administrative Services in the same district from 2007 to 2015. From 2016 to 2023 she was Superintendent of Schools for Special Education at the Carol and Frank Biondi Education Center at Rising Ground in Yonkers, New York. She concurrently directs the Teachers of Color Program and teaches Special Education as an Adjunct Professor at Pace University, an appointment that began in 2023.
Ministry and Presentations
She serves in the Ministry of Helps and Prison Ministry at Christian Cultural Center and teaches with Prison Fellowship’s Academy Program. On February 1, 2026, she presented the workshop “Leading Well, Equipping Women for Leadership” in NSBT’s Conversation Series. Her professional development in 2025 includes workshops on designing online curricula and on strategic design for engaged online learning.
