This website sets no analytics or advertising cookies and collects no information from a visitor who reads its pages.

When sign-in with Google is enabled at www.nsbt.org, Google confirms the account and this site keeps one signed cookie in that person’s browser for the sign-in session, at most eight hours; the site stores no account or password of its own. What is logged is the time, the outcome of the sign-in, the account’s domain, the role claimed and the role served, and a short hash of the email address — never the email in plain text and never a token.

On www.nsbt.org the contact and request forms deliver the message to NSBT’s own server for the Office of Student Services at studentservices@nsbt.org; nothing typed into them is sent anywhere else or kept by this site.

Privacy and Security

All student identity data is protected under NSBT’s Student Confidentiality and Privacy Policies.

Personal data is securely stored and accessed only by authorized personnel. Identity verification processes comply with applicable privacy laws, including FERPA and institutional accreditation requirements.

Compliance with FERPA

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) as amended is a USA federal law which is designed to protect the privacy of students by limiting access to their educational records. FERPA applies to educational institutions that receive funding under programs administered by the U.S. Department of Education. NSBT does not participate in the Federal Student Aid programs and receives no such federal funds, so FERPA does not apply to NSBT. NSBT follows the law in its policies and procedures nonetheless, and its staff who handle student records maintain current FERPA training and certification. FERPA prohibits disclosure of information related to a student to anyone other than a legitimate school official without the student’s explicit written consent. A school official is someone for whom the disclosure of the information is necessary in order for the person to carry out her or his responsibilities and includes both faculty and staff.

NSBT will not disclose information of a general nature such as a student address or phone number, or information related specifically to the student’s educational performance such as transcripts or evaluations to anyone who is not a legitimate NSBT school official without explicit written consent of the student. Students or graduates have the right to inspect and review all information contained in their education records, including transcripts or reports. Students or graduates who wish to review their records must contact the Office of Student Services and Academic Dean to do so. Students or graduates who believe that their records contain information that is inaccurate, or misleading may petition the Dean in writing with a request that such information be changed.

Decisions regarding such changes are the responsibility of the Academic Dean and will be communicated to the student or graduate in writing within thirty (30) days from when the petition is received. Students or graduates may file a complaint regarding any alleged violation of the FERPA law with the United States Department of Education by writing at:
