Technology Requirements

One of the primary requirements for online learning is that students have access to a reliable computer with an 80 GB hard drive or higher, 2 GB RAM or higher, and dependable Wi-Fi connections. A cell phone or tablet is usually not sufficient. The computer will need to have both audio and video capacities so that you can listen and watch online. Students are asked to use Microsoft Word for written work so that there is consistency in formatting, but they also need to be ready to read, and in some cases create Adobe PDF files. Google Chromebooks alone are not compatible with the school’s digital classroom environment.

Student identity verification

To make sure that enrolled students are the same individuals completing coursework, NSBT requires:

• Secure login credentials (username and password) for access to the learning management system (LMS).
• Multi-factor authentication (MFA) enforced on all NSBT Google Workspace accounts, including every student account.
• Participation in virtual class sessions with video verification when required.

• All official student communications must be conducted through the NSBT-provided email account.
• Students must not share login credentials or allow others to access their accounts.

Appeals and disputes

Students who believe their identity has been misused or who experience access issues may submit a formal appeal to the Office of Student Services.

Investigations will be conducted promptly, and necessary corrective actions will be taken.
