James Halek

James Halek is Treasurer of the Board of Trustees of The New School of Biblical Theology, recruited by Dr. A. R. Bernard, Sr., as a founding member of the Board. In his capacity as Treasurer, he provides Board-level oversight of the institution’s annual budget, audit engagement, and financial reporting cycle, working with the Executive Vice President on the matters that come before the Board. He currently serves as a Trustee on the Board of the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Mr. Halek is a nationally recognized real estate developer serving non-profit organizations and commercial clients, with over 40 years of experience spanning real estate development, property acquisitions and dispositions, land development, general contracting, and project financing. He has assembled large-scale land acquisitions through negotiations with multiple sellers and has successfully guided projects through municipal entitlement processes required for development approval. As a consultant, general contractor, and project overseer, he has consistently navigated complex partnerships and high-stakes decisions with professionalism and clarity. Working closely with major developers, he has helped translate bold visions into practical realities. His strengths as a negotiator and mediator have proven essential — whether securing favorable project terms, resolving stakeholder differences, or building consensus across diverse teams.

For more than 30 years, Mr. Halek has dedicated his real estate expertise to the development of religious and non-profit organizations. He has provided consulting and development services, including securing financing for a diverse portfolio of major projects representing significant aggregate capital investment. He has served on numerous non-profit boards and acted as an advisor to national ministry leaders. Mr. Halek is also an ordained minister.

In 1979 he founded Halek Development, Inc. in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and led the organization in the development of single-family homes, subdivisions, and custom homes for high-net-worth clients. His experience also included the development of a 210-unit multi-family complex for low-income families. In 1983 he founded Integrity Development, Inc. in Bloomington, Minnesota, and developed land in partnership with Northwestern College to achieve the maximum potential for its use. He negotiated 1031 exchanges with landowners to assemble property and assisted in the development of a golf course with surrounding home sites. He has also led the development of a medical building and an office building in Southlake, Texas, along with several custom homes in the surrounding area. He additionally developed and operates a manufacturing plant producing probiotics.

He holds a patent for hydrocarbon bond breaking using non-thermal microwave technology.
