James Halek
Treasurer, Board of Trustees

James Halek is Treasurer of the Board of Trustees of The New School of Biblical Theology, recruited by Dr. A. R. Bernard, Sr., as a founding member of the Board. In his capacity as Treasurer, he provides Board-level oversight of the institution’s annual budget, audit engagement, and financial reporting cycle, working with the Executive Vice President on the matters that come before the Board. Beyond NSBT, he is a Trustee of the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Mr. Halek is a nationally recognized real estate developer for non-profit organizations and commercial clients with more than 40 years of experience in real estate development, property acquisitions and dispositions, land development, general contracting and project financing. Over the past 30 years he has dedicated his real estate expertise to the development of religious and non-profit organizations, providing consulting, development services and financing for non-profit projects. In 1979 he founded Halek Development, Inc. in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and led the organization in the development of single-family homes, subdivisions and custom homes for high-net-worth clients. His experience also included developing a 210-unit multi-family complex for low-income families. In 1983 he founded Integrity Development, Inc. in Bloomington, Minnesota, and developed land in partnership with Northwestern College to achieve the maximum potential for its use. He negotiated 1031 exchanges with land owners to assemble property and assisted in the development of a golf course with surrounding homesites.
Mr. Halek is an ordained minister. As he describes his own work, his background includes a medical building and an office building he developed in Southlake, Texas, along with several custom homes in that area. He also developed and operates a manufacturing plant that produces probiotics.
He holds a patent for hydro carbon bond breaking using non thermal microwave. He has served on numerous non-profit boards and has been an advisor to national ministry leaders.
